Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has called the international community and organizations to join the ongoing efforts aiming at restoring peace and stability to South kordofan State instead of pressuring Sudan through unfair and baseless reports. In statement to the Sudan News Agency, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Al Obaid Mirawih has called on bodies in charge of issuing these reports on alleged violations in South Kordiofan to cease supporting the rebels and putting pressures on Sudan and work for peace and stability of the area instead . The annual report issued by Human Rights Commission is replica of a previous report tabled before the Security Council last week and very typical of reports by pro rebels organizations, he said. These reports however lack evidences and are against the reality in the state, said Mirawih. The Spokesman described the reports on war crimes and human rights abuses in South Kordofan as unfair and untrue, saying the Sudan People Movement elements have begun the war when they rejected the results of the complimentary elections in the state. The government, however, has the right to fight the rebels and prevent them from achieving their goals, he concluded.
