A high-level delegation of representatives of the UN agencies, the international donors, the UNDP and the Commission for Disarmament, Demobilization, Reintegration (DDR) is due to visit the Blue Nile state today
The General Commissioner of the DDR, Dr. Sulaf-Eddin Sallih, said that the visit comes as part of the implementation of the DDR Programme in the State
He said that the delegation will include the Ambassadors of Japan, Norway, Canada, Germany and Spain as well as the Representative of the UN, Ali Al Zaatari and leaders of the DDR Commission
Dr. Sallih said that the Ministry of Health of Blue Nile State will be given during the visit a specialized health centre, which was constructed and fully-equipped by the DDR Commission
The delegation will pay an inspection visit to Zindiyyah Camp in Al-Rossaires Locality and will get informed about the various projects being implemented by the DDR Commission in the state to target the demobilized persons in the state, including agricultural, commercial and other projects
The delegation will be accompanied during the tour by the acting governor of the State, Dr. Adam Abbakar, and a number of executive and security leaders
