The Minister of Finance and National Economy Ali Mahmood has pointed to the important role by Sudan through its participation in the regional and international organizations. Addressing the opening sitting of the 39th Conference of the African Insurance Organization (AIO) General Assembly which is taking place in Khartoum, the minister stressed the significant role of insurance, which stands as immunity against any threatening to the economic components.
He pointed out that Sudan has placed great concern to the micro-finance and insurance at the different government levels.
The minister reviewed at the meeting efforts exerted for supporting economic stability and speeding up the development pattern through government endeavors to halt war and develop its economic and development policies which centers on financial and monetary reform. He indicated that Sudan has surpassed the stage of recession to phase of rapid development, affirming that the volume of Sudanese economy has doubled five times since the beginning of this millennium as well as the flow of foreign investments which led to speeding up the growth rate.
