The Sudan and South Sudan delegations to negotiations on resolved issues held in Addis Ababa under African Union (AU) Mediation, concluded a deal on oil fees following halt of exporting South Sudan’s oil through the Sudanese territories in January due to differences on transportation fees. The Spokesman of the Sudan’s delegation Mutrif Siddiq said that the two parties reached “a considerable” agreement on oil fees on Friday evening which is unsatisfactory to the two sides. He added that the agreement will be implemented after reaching agreement on the security issues. The chief AU mediator Thabo Mbeiki said that the two parties have now to conclude a comprehensive agreement including security issue by 22 September. It is expected that the border committee will hold a meeting today Saturday to be attended by an African experts team to discuss disputed areas between the two countries.
