A high-level delegation headed by the Minister of Defense, Gen. Abdul-Rahim Mohamed Hussein, and includes the Ministers of Interior, Finance and Agriculture and the Director General of the Security and Intelligence Organ, will begin tomorrow Wednesday a visit to Alfashir to participate in a meeting for review the preparations for securing the harvest season in Darfur. Following a coordination meeting held Monday in Alfashir, the governor of North Darfur State, Osman Mohamed Yousif Kibir, said that the idea of holding the plenary conference emanated from the fact that the current agricultural season is expected to produce a big quantity of food, cash crops and cereals and that productivity shall be increased to push ahead the economic process in the country. He indicated that the abundant agricultural production can lead to self-sufficiency and relieving Darfur states from depending on the relief materials being extended by organizations. The meeting is expected to discuss means for securing the harvest season.
