Open in new windowThe President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Albashir has issued Wednesday a Republican Decree on formation of a higher committee to follow up implementation of the Cooperation Agreement signed between Sudan and South Sudan late September. The higher committee is headed by the President of the Republic and comprising of the First Vice -President Ali Osman Taha as his deputy, and Vice President Al-Haj Adam, Assistants of the President of the Republic Musa Mohamed Ahmed, Jalal Yousif Al-Degair and Colonel Abdul-Rahman Al-Saddiq Al-Mahdi as members besides President's Assistant Nafie Ali Nafie as a member and rapporteur.
The decree stipulated membership of the Ministers of the Presidency of the Republic, Cabinet Affairs, Defense, Interior, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Oil, Trade, Transport, Roads and Bridges and Health. The Republican Decree also appointed the State Minister at the Presidency of the Republic Idris Abdul-Gadir, as the committee's deputy rapporteur, in addition to the General Director of the Security and Intelligence Organ, Gen. Mohamed Attal-Moula, the Governor of the Bank of Sudan Mohamed Khair Al-Zubair, and the economist expert Sabir Mohamed Al-Hassan as members.
