The Vice President of the Republic Alhaj Adam has got acquainted with the general condition in South Darfur State, with especial regard to the transport issues.This came when he received Wednesday in his office at the Republican Palace the governor of South Darfur State Hamad Fadlalla in a meeting attended by the Deputy Director General of Sudan Railways Corporation. Mr. Adam underscored the importance of trains as the major carrier of commodities to western Sudan.
In a statement to the Sudan News Agency, the governor of South Darfur said his state was facing challenges in the transport field. He announced that the Vice President was expected to visit South Darfur State in the third week of November to attend the inaugural sitting of the Displaced People Conference in Nyala.
