The volume of trade exchange between Sudan and Egypt amounted to about $ 731 million, where Egypt is ranked 3rd after China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in terms of volume of export to Sudan. Sudan imports machinery, equipment, chemical products, means of transportation and textile from Egypt and exports live animals, meat, leathers and peanut to Egypt. This was revealed by the Minister at the Supreme Council for Investment, in an interview with Al-Ahram Newspaper Wednesday, stressing endeavor of the Sudanese and Egyptian sides to raise the volume of trade exchange to double the current figure, which does not cope the level of relations between the two countries. He pointed out that the two countries agreed to have 213 Egyptian investment projects estimated at a cost of 7,751 million dollars divided into 117 projects in industry at $ 1.2 billion, 79 service projects at $ 6,450 million and 17 projects in agriculture at $ 89 million. Mr. Ismail added that the projects that have been implemented until 2011 were 49 projects totaled to $ 683 million dollars, including 31 projects in the industry at $ 505 million, 16 service projects at $ 174 million and others in agriculture at $ 4 million.
