The ruling National Congress Party (NCP) denied reports on reaching an agreement or compromise with Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) concerning the post-referendum issues, including approval of a dual nationality and holding the referendum without finalizing the demarcation of the border between the north and the south on the ground. This was expressed by the Political Secretary of the National Congress, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour in a response to reports published by some newspapers on statements attributed to the First Vice - President and President of the Government of South Sudan (GoSS), Salva Kiir, quoting him as saying that the two partners have agreed on holding the referendum without completion of the demarcation of the borders. Prof. Ghandour denied any agreement between the NCP and the SPLM on the dual citizenship, because Sudan is now still united, adding that the issue of nationality is being discussed by committees assigned for reviewing the post-referendum issues.
