The Minister of Industry, Dr. Awad Ahmed Al-jaz, met Monday officials of the Chinese Development Bank in Beijing in the framework of the joint cooperation between the Bank and the Ministry of Industry for financing industrial projects in the Sudan at various sectors, including sugar, leather, food and other industries.
Dr. Al-Jaz said in a telephone call from China said that a delegation of the Chinese Development Bank would visit the country this month, pointing out that an agreement was reached on formation of joint mechanism of the ministry and the bank.
He added that the joint team is assigned to map out a five-year strategy for funding the industrial sector according to the forwarded studies.
Dr. Al-Jaz also discussed with the officials of Chinese leather sector the possibility of operating in the field of leather industrial development in Sudan as well as establishing partnerships with the public and private sectors to enhance this industry.
